Crafting a Leadership Vision, Goals & Roadmap for Tech Modernization

A sportswear retailer in Portland, OR brought in a new Chief Digital Information Office (CDIO) aiming to rapidly modernize its technology organization.

The opportunity

The leaders and organization needed a shared vision, goals, and roadmap that unified them through the challenges of technology modernization.

How we helped

Aiming to create a sense of shared ownership, we carefully planned a series of sessions to create measurable goals and actionable steps:

  • Facilitated a workshop to define a big, bold vision

  • Interviewed each senior leader to understand challenges and opportunities

  • Facilitated a workshop to define objectives and key results (OKRs)

  • Collaborated with senior leaders to define actions over the next 12 months with define key performance indicators (KPIs) to indicate we were on the right path

  • Developed executive presentations and communications to ensure that supporting teams understood the vision, OKRs, roadmap, and how they play a key role in enabling the company’s success

How we made a statement

Through co-creation sessions, we developed a unified leadership team perspective to steer the organization into the future with clarity, confidence, and alignment. This team was set up with the conditions for success to navigate into the inherent turbulence of technology modernizations.
